J.K. Henriksen & Associates designs and manufactures the highest quality, best performing cryogenic test dewars available. Test dewars are typically classified by the mechanism used to provide cooling to the device under test (DUT):

  • Pour-fill - characterized by an internal cryogen storage tank that provides cooling.
  • Cryostat - an open-cycle heat exchanger fed by a large storage dewar of cryogen through a vacuum jacketed transfer line.
  • Closed-cycle - a compressor based refrigeration system that requires no cryogen to achieve DUT temperatures below 10K (two-stage) or below 40K (single-stage).

  • Plug-And-Play - modular design motherboard / daughterboard arrangement - allows operator to quickly and easily reconfigure a system for use with different device packages (i.e. 68-, 84-, 100-pin LCC, etc.) Custom packages available.
  • Micro-coax Signal Lines - high-quality matched signal lines; 50-ohm impedance, bandwidths to 100MHz. Allows for high-speed signal transmission with minimal noise and crosstalk.
  • Capacitance per lead: 15-20pF
  • Gold-plated contacts
  • Equivalent input noise is approximately 8 x 10 -15 amps/Hz
  • Cross-talk < 0.1% at 1MHz with adjacent lead terminated.
  • Fast Turnaround Time - rapid cool-down, warm-up and easy access to device space make for very rapid cycle times.
  • Superior Optical Performance
  • Low background units levels to 10 electrons / second.
  • Precise Temperature Control - typical stability 0.05K or better--below 0.001K possible.
  • Superior Vacuum Characteristics - translates into longer operation between pump-downs.
